Telluride Ski Resort Announces Improvements for the 2010/11 Ski Season

The largest undertaking was an aggressive gladding project on a variety of terrain. Gold Rush and Prospect Glades are newly created tree ski runs through the once dense forest off the Polar Queen Express and Prospect Express chairs. Gold Rush is a double blue between Henry’s and Silver Tip. Prospect Glades, also a double blue, is between Magnolia and Stella. Additional gladding was done on expert terrain in the Chair 9 area on skiers left of Joint Point and on Log Pile.

Alpino Vino will be open for a unique nighttime dining experience accessed with a new 12 person heated snow cat. The wood and stone chalet will offer an Italian themed five course menu with breathtaking views, a dining experience unmatched in North America.

Other on-mountain improvements are less noticeable, such as doubling the pumping capacity of the snowmaking in the lift 4, 5 and 6 pods, Restroom renovations at High Camp and Giuseppe’s and upgraded parts on lifts 6 and 8 for better reliability.
