Winter Activities in Telluride, Colorado
Though classes and workshops are offered year-round at Ah Haa, it can be a great activity during the winter if you want to escape from the snow and indulge your creative side. This community center for the arts offers educational courses in many mediums, covering ceramics, cooking, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, writing, and spirit and wellness.
Classes can range from one-day workshops to six-week courses and class sizes are kept between 5-15 students. Ah Haa was founded in 1990 and continues to honor its mission: “The Ah Haa School for the Arts is a dynamic Telluride center dedicated to inspiring all people to discover, nurture, and celebrate creativity.” The teachers are both local and nationally recognized artists and students can be children and adults.
Tuition prices vary from class to class but all registration is completed online. Each class description online should have a “Register Now” button, if there is no button, you can call 970-728-3886 for more information on that class. Classes are held on campus at the Depot building, 300 South Townsend St., near the San Miguel River. This former train depot is on the National Register of Historic Places and since 2013 is fully owned by Ah Haa.
