For a family-friendly snow activity, we recommend heading over to Firecracker Hill, on the south side of Telluride Town Park for sledding.
You can bring your own sled, rent one from the Nordic Center, or purchase one at the local Ace Hardware store. Please observe the orange cones marking the walking path to the top of the hill. The sledding hill is next to the Nordic Center where you can also rent ice skates and cross country skis to make it a full day of winter activity fun in Telluride.
Snowmobiling is another fun way to explore Telluride’s trails without skis or snowboards. On these tours, you can also learn more about Telluride’s history and the area. Telluride Outside provides half-day and full-day guided tours. Tours can be done on single or double snowmobiles and can be tailored for families or adventure seekers. The half-day tour covers 18 miles of trails, with a full-day tour covering 28 miles.
